The understated, unselfconscious boosterism of this map's caption:

"Map showing location of interesting places"

(From The Flow of Time in the Connecticut Valley, by two geologists, George Bain and Howard Meyerhoff, originally published in 1942, republished in 1976)

These include an asbestos mine, several lead mines, and Mt. Sugarloaf, among other items.

Johns River Railroad Bridge over the Connecticut River, north of Littleton NH.

These tracks are not presently in use, as evidenced by the rusted rail and overgrown vegetation at both ends of the bridge.

Will it return to use one day, or could it become a new rail trail? Check out our complete rail trail map of MA-NH-VT at Trailspotting.com to learn more .. trailspotting.com/p/trailspott

I've been sharing my #photography lately. These are #photos of a small #PlaneCrash into the #ConnecticutRiver between #Hartford and East Hartford #Connecticut shortly after #takeoff in August 1996.

To see more of my #photos there's a link to my #PhotoBook as well as my Instagram in my bio.

#boosts are appreciated.
