A few people have pointed out over the years that I missed some machine in "The Net". I've fixed the existing entry for the Apple Powerbook Duo and added the missing Apple Powerbook 540c, Power Macintosh 7100 and Compaq Prolinea.

Continuing the laptop theme, here are some first-time appearances of laptops. "Jungle 2 Jungle" sees the first Compaq LTE Elite in the database, along with a Compaq Prolinea 3/4. "Ghostbusters: Afterlife" offers two new comers: the Dell Latitude E5520 and HP Stream (as well as the classic Casio PB-100). Finally the Acer Extensa 5620 makes its first appearance in "Bad Ass".

This machine was previously running on Lubuntu 18.04, and same schema, the fact that it is 32 bit prevents an update to the latest version of Lubuntu.
This friend seems quite happy with an Xfce desk.
For a friend, I installed the latest version of Linux Debian (12.8) on a machine that is starting to be old: a Compaq 6005 with an AMD Athlon II. The machine is operational and appears to be fast even on the web. As it is 32-bit and Firefox will stop supporting 32-bit in January 2025. Chromium was a good alternative.
Day 19 is how commercials work offering a PC this Holiday Season.

Up for auction is a Compaq Portable Computer (Model 101709), going for $67 right now. Needs parts or repair, but could be a cool project. Auction ends Nov 5, so there’s still a bit of time if you're interested.
Found an old Compaq Portable PC listed for $14.95. Local pickup in NW Ohio only (looks to be close to Toledo), and there’s about 2 days left before the auction ends. If you're anywhere near there this is probably going to go super cheap for what it is (local ones often do.)

Got a lot of really old notebooks. They have broken screens, broken keyboards and broken cases. But they CPUs still able to compute things. So they will work as my "homelab" servers, till I could hold a soldering iron in my hands 
.
This will be a «homeless-style» server rack. But as a man, who still living in Russia, I don't have enough money to buy something like HP Microserver and a decent NAS
TIL: Compaq's floppy drive had a design flaw that caused the motor belt to slip off. It can be fixed by grinding the retention roll to a different shape, so the belt will not slip over the edge but will be centered. It seems counterintuitive, but that how physics works.
