Update to the "standard" image also worked quite nicely. Now onto the really big question: Is it going to work out when I update to bookworm and then trixie as the underlying OS? Stay tuned.

Huh, that was easier than I had thought. Just switched my first CNPG DB cluster over from the old combined image to the new system image while also updating from Postgres 17.2 to 17.6, and it looks like that just worked without any issue.
So onto the next attempt, seeing what happens when I update that cluster to the "standard" image, as the "system" image is going to get deprecated at some point.
I'm still a bit suspicious because there are no docs on how to migrate.
And there we go, my Grafana CloudNativePG cluster was broken by...node drain. Great software!
New blog post: https://blog.mei-home.net/posts/cnpg-barman-plugin-migration/
A short (for me, stop snickering!) post on migrating from the integrating barman cloud backup in CNPG to the separate plugin.
We’re back for the September cohort of the CNCF’s LFX Mentorship Program—this time with 3 exciting CloudNativePG projects and a call for new mentees: Our proposed projects:
Refresh cnpg-i-hello-world (plugin dev)
Chaos testing for fault tolerance
Rebuild multi-version docs with Docusaurus
Apply by August 12

Moved the last #PostgreSQL cluster from Crunchy Postgres to #CloudNativePG.
This was the final step in the long overdue migration from #RKE to #RKE2.
What at ride but went pretty smoothly to be honest!
Had to downgrade Immich back to a pre 1.133 (here 1.132.3) because of the problem with the pgvector.rs to VectorChord migration on CloudNativePG...
This time, it seems quite complex, and will need more proper time allocated...
Updating my CloudNativePG Clusters to postgresql:17.5 broke wal archiving to my Ceph S3 Object Store. Here's a new blog post describing the fix:
Great new v1.26 release of CloudNative-PG out, providing scalable and highly available Postgres on Kubernetes.
https://cloudnative-pg.io/releases/cloudnative-pg-1-26.0-released/
Glad to see the in-place upgrades and extensions. Intrigued about the backup plugins, as I'm interested in integrated logical backups (pg_dump).
Check it out!
Migrating all of my CloudNativePG cluster's s3 backup endpoints was... Weirdly easy
We'll see during the night if everything goes well and only green is to be reported tomorrow morning
I spent probably a weeks worth of hours learning more #kubernetes so I could save $60 a month.
I have a nice 3 node kube cluster with a 2 node #keepalived #haproxy TCP load balancer. All on #ARM VPS.

I am testing out some tech I want to learn more about :-)
I have used #Terraform to create some VMs in my #Proxmox server, then with #kubespray installed a kubernetes cluster on them.
Next I'll install #rook / #ceph so I have some storage, and last but not least I will install #CloudNativePG @CloudNativePG@mastodon.social on it.
If that all works, I'll repeat that in another datacenter to test cloudnativepg replica clusters.
Combining hobby and work..
Uuuuuh, nice!
#CloudNativePG is now officially a #CNCF project: CloudNativePG has been accepted into the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), marking a significant milestone in its evolution.
I really like CNPG. A very nice way to run #postgreSQL in #Kubernetes.
