matthew - retroedge.techOne way to handle this problem is to make a CloneZilla image on an extra storage drive instead of doing a "disk to disk" clone. <br><br>I try to avoid "disk to disk" clones and favor "disk to image" operation, then "restore image to disk" operation to get it to the final destination. <br><br>This removes the possibility of me accidentally overwriting the wrong drive. <br><br>It take more time, as you have to transfer twice. However, then you also have a CloneZilla image of that point in time to go back to later (if needed). <br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://social.retroedge.tech/tag/clonezilla" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#CloneZilla</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://social.retroedge.tech/tag/linux" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Linux</a><span class="quote-inline"><br><br>RT: <a href="https://mas.to/users/OrionKidder/statuses/113184855805918457" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://mas.to/users/OrionKidder/statuses/113184855805918457</a></span>

Dawn Tåke 🌙 :sparkletrans:<p>Linux Day 4.5</p><p>At home, I booted up my Dell that has Mint on it and started to create some bootable drives. It was both easier and harder than I expected. Making a Mint live disc was super easy. Even checking the sha256 actually worked, (I dicked around with Kleopatra for hours on Windows and didn't get it right.) But getting CloneZilla to into the correct state took a lot of research to make sure I didn't fuck anything up.</p><p>Still need to:</p><p>Use Rufus (Windows only) to make a Windows 11 "Windows to Go" where it'll run on a USB drive.<br>Back up all the data on my Windows machine <br>Clone the Zilla<br>Extract my Windows license key<br>Confer with friend to make sure I did everything</p><p>Turn my MSI into a Mint machine<br>Update my Dell to the newest Mint.</p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/TourmaLinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TourmaLinux</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/CloneZilla" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>CloneZilla</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Rufus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Rufus</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Kleopatra" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Kleopatra</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Windows</span></a></p>
