Jesper Agdakx 🔸I just listened to this interview on Clearer Thinking with Tee Barnett on setting goals, life changes, causes of burnout, and when a coach can (not) help. I found so much of it very recognizable and useful to think about. Very much recommended giving it a listen.<br><br><a href="https://podcast.clearerthinking.org/episode/250/tee-barnett-getting-a-handle-on-your-goals-and-big-life-changes/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">podcast.clearerthinking.org/episode/250/tee-barnett-getting-a-handle-on-your-goals-and-big-life-changes/</a><br><br><a class="hashtag" href="https://agda.club/tag/clearerthinking" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#ClearerThinking</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://agda.club/tag/podcast" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Podcast</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://agda.club/tag/coaching" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Coaching</a> <a class="hashtag" href="https://agda.club/tag/burnout" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Burnout</a>

Robin Gutzen<p>Scientific research needs fresh perspectives on funding and incentive schemes to better support its diverse challenges. In this engaging podcast interview, they explore and review the concept of a <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/FocusedResearchOrganization" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FocusedResearchOrganization</span></a> (FRO) and its non-profit startup approach to ambitious scientific projects.</p><p><a href="https://podcast.clearerthinking.org/episode/157/adam-marblestone-science-is-learning-from-start-ups/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">podcast.clearerthinking.org/ep</span><span class="invisible">isode/157/adam-marblestone-science-is-learning-from-start-ups/</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/ScienceFunding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScienceFunding</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/ResearchInnovation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ResearchInnovation</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/ScienceCommunity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ScienceCommunity</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/ClearerThinking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ClearerThinking</span></a><br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Podcast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Podcast</span></a></p>
Jesper Agdakx ♾️<p>This episode on Clearer Thinking really highlights an important question on how we should think about the risks and consequences of climate change: <a href="https://podcast.clearerthinking.org/episode/146/diana-%C3%BCrge-vorsatz-and-misha-glouberman-how-huge-a-deal-is-climate-change-really/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">podcast.clearerthinking.org/ep</span><span class="invisible">isode/146/diana-%C3%BCrge-vorsatz-and-misha-glouberman-how-huge-a-deal-is-climate-change-really/</span></a></p><p>This is a question I myself have often been struggling with: is climate change really a unique existential threat to civilization and our way of life? Or is it "just" one of the major issues of our time that is obviously going to cause major suffering, but is ultimately on a similar level as other scary things such as nuclear war, bioengineered pandemics, AI risks, or the fall of democracy as our primary governmental system?</p><p>Perhaps even more interesting in this episode is the meta-discussion on how you can get accurate information on these topics as a layperson: should you engage with the arguments of the prominent scientists in the field, or should you instead defer to superforecasters who have a proven track record making predictions across different fields?</p><p><a href="https://types.pl/tags/ClearerThinking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ClearerThinking</span></a> <a href="https://types.pl/tags/Podcast" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Podcast</span></a> <a href="https://types.pl/tags/Climate" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Climate</span></a> <a href="https://types.pl/tags/ClimateChange" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ClimateChange</span></a> <a href="https://types.pl/tags/Superforecasting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Superforecasting</span></a></p>
Jesper Agdakx ♾️<p>The intrinsic values quiz on Clearer Thinking is really interesting and forces you to think about your core values. The results for me were rather surprising, especially the fact that I am much more of an Aristotelian than I thought (rather than an utilitarian, for which I actually scored lowest). I can really recommend taking the test and saving the results for when you are in need of a reminder of why you are doing what you do.</p><p><a href="https://programs.clearerthinking.org/intrinsic_values_test.html" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">programs.clearerthinking.org/i</span><span class="invisible">ntrinsic_values_test.html</span></a> <a href="https://types.pl/tags/ClearerThinking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ClearerThinking</span></a></p>
