Old man blue sky river

An evening where a sudden change to rainy clouds added heavy blue tone to the Ton-Le Sap river walk.

And some angry skies, indeed...for those who spot such pareidolian patterns.

But the evening dinner boats are ready for an evening with some colourful partying on the river.

🇫🇷 Bonjour! Une autre ruelle découverte hier lors de mon déplacement à Namur : la ruelle de l'Enfer! Une autre étroite ruelle reliant la chaussée de Waterloo à la rue en contrebas en passant sous le chemin de fer. Mais rassurez vous au bout du tunnel, il y avait la lumière du soleil printannier! 🙂

🇫🇷 Ambiance à Tour & Taxis avec le quartier du manga à la foire du livre dans la gare maritime et un espace vert aménagé dans cette même halle. A l'extérieur lorsqu'on vient de Bruxelles-Nord, on passe devant les locaux de l'école de cirque de Bruxelles qui occupent des locaux sur le site, évocation avec ce tracteur et cette roulotte.

🇬🇧 Imprssions of Tour & Taxis with the Manga District at the Brussels Book Fair and a green space in the former maritime railway station. Outside, when we walk from Brussels-North railway station, we come across the Circus School of Brussels which uses a part of the sheds, evocation with this tractor and this caravan.

A sweet welcome to Yogyakarta, Java!

Java being synonym for great coffee are recognized by most coffeeholics in this world. But the Indonesian Java island, where the capital Djakarta and the cultural capital and former capital Yogyakarta is situated, is also the third largest producer of chocolate in the world.

Indonesia as such is the largest chocolate producer by far outside Africa, more than twice as large as Brazil.

Being a historical, cultural and political meeting point for centuries, the city is a place to enjoy great food, being Indonesian or a visitor.
But the greatest pleasure will be to enjoy coffee and a chocolate snack.

Sweettooths will love this city!.

For someone who enjoys his coffee black, no sugar or milk thank you very much, and chocolate 60% or over, please:
That is no problem in Yogja!

I had to stop myself from eating chocolate with every great cup of coffee I got in Yogja. The amounts of coffees drunk, not so much.

A spot to enjoy the slow, relaxing hours before sunset

The riverside walk along the west side of Ton Le Sap river and east of Sisowath Quay blvd stretches nearly 4 kilometers. That is past the junction where Ton Le Sap joins the mighty Mekong river in front of the Royal Square and the Royal Palace.

It is a nice walk, and deeply needed when the day is hot and the sun is beating down. There is always a cooling breeze there. And for people who learns and experience places and cities by walking, fresh, moving air is always welcome.

In the evening, the riverside fills up by locals socializing, playing, exercising, eating, drinking, dating and selling. It is hard to say if it is more lively there than in the old town behind Sisowath Quay, or the heavy trafficked river filled with boats on the other side.

It is well worth spending some time there to see and understand Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.

Východočeská metropole vstoupila do Síně slávy Cykloměsta 2024 - Do práce na koleV polovině ledna jsme se vypravili do Hradce Králové, abychom město oficiálně uvedli do Síně slávy Cykloměsta 2024. Stejně jako loni se východočeská metropole umístila na nejvyšší příčce v anketě cyklopřívětivých měst a podle pravidel se tedy odebírá právě do Síně slávy. Pan Lukáš Řádek, náměstek hradecké primátorky od nás tedy přebral již druhou plaketu. Gratulujeme.
