I reached a little personal milestone at the weekend: I have now completed half the streets in the city (municipality) of Malaga, as measured by CityStrides.

The city has 4580 named streets, and I have covered 2291 of them on foot.

CityStrides is probably my 2nd most used OpenStreetMap "end user" application, after OsmAnd.

Today I broke through 1000 named streets completed (walked or run) in the city of Málaga, as measured by CityStrides.

Only another 3600 to go. The first 1000 took me more than 10 years, so....

As an OpenStreetMap contributor, there is a nice feedback loop using tools like this that are based entirely on OSM data. Streets that should be tagged as private become obvious. And I've found many residential streets that should be tagged as steps.

The Finca La Palma barrio in Malaga is perfect for racking up the street count for any kind of EverySingleStreet tracking. I added 19 streets to my total in 20 minutes, but still somehow managed to miss one!

I also confirmed all the sidewalks and pedestrian crossings with StreetComplete, and took a few notes to be added to OSM later.

Anyone else here combining mapping with EverySingleStreet apps like #CityStrides, #StreetFerret, or #Wandrer.earth?

I plotted a run last night, ticking off a corner of my fair town, which pushed me into 70% complete.
I've got another run mapped around/near a friends place which should get me a bunch more roads, and be a nice longish run. It's a good way to turn some boring miles into a diversion, if you need that.

Anyone else sort of hooked on #CityStrides #Running

got a little wild running dead ends, and driveways the past few weeks. 2nd in my small town, rapidly approaching #1, but I want to do it with a long run snagging a bunch of streets. silly games to keep running fun.

Long distance footpaths aren't what they used to be. I'd walked all of "Pennine Way" before 10am this morning 😂 - I was expecting more than a short run of bungalows tbh!

And then (because I had 100 more urgent things to research) I went looking and found that the Pennine Way footpath was named in 1965, and the short road in Barnsley, with other hill named roads nearby, seems to be on the 1955-61 OS map. So I have walked the original Pennine Way I guess!
