sadedoes<p>Miss Baby is back in Broody Jail. </p><p>I had noticed she had spent about 2h in the nest already, so I went to check, she did the grrr-cluck-cluck so I gently took her out of the nest. She walked a bit, jumped on the log when I went back inside, and 10 minutes later was back in the nest. sadedoes<p>Little bit of <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/Gardening" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gardening</span></a> today.</p><p>Garden center had herbs on offer (3 plants / 5€) so got three kinds of mint (Moroccan, Chocolate & Orange), two kinds of basil (red & Thai), and dill, and planted them in a tower pot (like this <a href="https://www.mygreenhelp.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Corsica-vertical-garden-Elho-modulare.jpg" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">mygreenhelp.com/wp-content/upl</span><span class="invisible">oads/2017/06/Corsica-vertical-garden-Elho-modulare.jpg</span></a> )</p><p>Then rescued a pineapple mint that had been neglected since last year & replanted it (in a pot, of course), and weeded a bunch of nettles.</p><p>These join the strawberry plants we got from the CSA for cheap and got planted last weekend in tower pots like the herbs.</p><p>Their <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/Chookesties" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Chookesties</span></a> had a feast pecking ants from emptied old pots.</p>

We split off a couple m² in the closed run (with roof) with wire and put a smaller feeder & water-er.</p><p>Baby has been put in Broody Jail, and it is so sad seeing her doing the "I want out of here! I want back in the nest with my (non-existing) babies!"</p><p>Hopefully it won't take too long, she's already been broody for two days. Drop them to the ground, and they'll ignore them tho.</p><p>They also love mock strawberries <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potentilla_indica" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potent</span><span class="invisible">illa_indica</span></a> and go nuts when we offer some. sadedoes<p>It felt like a splurge adding a €45 tray to their <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/Chookesties" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Chookesties</span></a> <a href="https://fedi.kcore.org/tags/Chookingham" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Chookingham</span></a> Palace (aka, the chicken coop), but it makes cleaning it a breeze, less than 5 minutes!</p><p>Raking their run and filling the feeder & water adds 10 minutes.
