Finally finished these socks. They were my second backup project so only pulled out when I couldn't do the first two. I reaquainted myself with cabling, discovered how annoying cable needles could be on, say, a crowded train, but then learned how to cable without a needle. Yay!

Also reaquainted myself with how much I don't enjoy magic loop knitting so went back to a set of dpns for the second sock. And so the second sock is about two sizes larger which no one but me (and you) will ever know.

Finished the back yoke for the Manhattan cardigan by Xiaowei Design. First time trying any sort of cabling, and am doing it without a cable needle. It is going slowly, but a very fun knit so far!

I'm doing a test run of a cable knit project with some leftover yarn, so I can get a feel for it before I knit it in the proper yarn. I found the free pattern on Ravelry called "Bolivian Bulky Celtic Cable Vest" by Shannon Dunbabin. Due to lack of a printer I copied it down by hand and color coded it so I hopefully don't get lost!! #knitting #cableknitting

It was time to destash by making another one of these whitefrost beanies. I love the pattern, it is well written - much better than I tend to expect from a free pattern, especially with features like these cables! This beanie will be a birthday present (to be gifted at the day of posting, to someone not on pixelfed, so I don't worry about that person seeing this too early). @knitting Does anyone have experience with a cabled adult garment in (partially) plantbased yarn? I'm willing to do a dense gauge but I'm afraid it will stretch overtime. (My brain/skin doesn't tolerate wool even superwash merino so that's not an option) Any inside it is welcome! (There are commercial calbe sweaters out of cotton so it should be possible?) #knitting #cableknitting

Thanks to #FallFinishAlong I'm finally nearing the end of this cable section! I'm really happy with how the gradient/cable worked out, though I'm probably going to run out of blue and have to improvise for the couple of rows after the cable finishes before it switches to green.
