Important and exclusive update from #Bristol (ahem!) 'Live'.
It wasn't JD Vance that killed the pontiff, but folk in South West England.
"Founded in 2005 by a brother and sister team who ran Bristol's oldest coffee shop,..."

Nice #transrights (and adjacent stuff) demonstration today in #Bristol, about 2-3000 in attendance in all. In addition to trans, enbies, and allies, it was nice to see existing political organisations joining in support, such as the greens, socialist workers, and a trade union or two.

The new plaque fails to mention Edward Colston's religious bigotry, as well as the statue's being a source of controversy almost from its unveiling.
The cult of Colston still lingers over #Bristol like a particularly smelly fart.
Where are the statues to anti-slavery campaigners like Bishop Wulfstan (who fought against the 11the century Irish slave trade) and Thomas Clarkson?

Good morning.
What a grey day.
I sent to this photo to my ward councillor earlier. #Bristol City Council can't even devise postal vote ballot papers and envelopes so the innermost address panel shows clearly through the windows.
