cmgrowell<p>This is interesting. It bans *all* ebikes, even legitimate class 1-3 bikes, from sidewalks, parks, and trails. So, if I was riding my emtb and went to a park and rode on the sidewalk or across the grass for a little ways to get to the water fountain I could get a $100 ticket. This would include anyone on a legal commuter ebike as well. I'll be walking my bike in Westlake Village parks from now on I guess. Fortunately, the city itself does not have many trails, but it is surrounded by them.</p><p>I get what they are trying to do, but they should focus on the modified e-bikes and e-motos that are fast and heavy and doing the most damage. Plenty of people use class 1-3 e-bikes for exercise and aren't out there scaring people and tearing up parks. </p><p><a href="https://ktla.com/news/california/southern-california-city-the-latest-to-announce-e-bike-crackdown/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ktla.com/news/california/south</span><span class="invisible">ern-california-city-the-latest-to-announce-e-bike-crackdown/</span></a></p><p>Full ordinance:<br><a href="https://www.wlv.org/DocumentCenter/View/5687/PH2" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">wlv.org/DocumentCenter/View/56</span><span class="invisible">87/PH2</span></a></p><p><a href="https://m.ai6yr.org/tags/BikeTooter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BikeTooter</span></a></p>
