#Mondog It was hot today at 85F/29C. We waited again to let the sun calm down a bit and had an outdoor time. Just doing this with him is so therapeutic, and it never gets old. I wish we could send you the strong fragrance of the azaleas. Happiness.
A cloudy but very comfortable day. A storm is forecast for later tonight and I hope it won't be severe. Colors come out much better on a cloudy day than a sunny day, making Kengo look better, not? Daffodils came back. Also the yardmen came last evening, and the yard looks much better. One more day.
Hiked along the slope of the Eastern Mountains of Kyōto (東山), first up to the little-known Himukai Daijingū (日向大神宮), a little Shintō shrine whose grandiose name borrows from the ancient and most-revered Ise Jingū after which its architecture is modeled. Then to the iconic Zen Buddhist temple Nanzenji (南禅寺), and along Philosophy Road (哲学の道) to the Silver Pavilion Ginkakuji (銀閣寺). Then as now there was a shortage of silver, even to the Ashikaga Shōguns, so the pavilion was never gilded, but with its similarlity to the Golden Pavilion Kinkakuji and topped by a phoenix, it is nevertheless charming. Sakura cherry blossoms at their best all along the way, with other spring flowers like magnolia and early-blossoming purple azaleas, made for a long and aesthetically pleasing hike.
A gorgeous day with plenty of sunshine and cool air after two damp days. It's crazy that a frost advisory has been issued for tonight. Kengo posed for a change with pretty azaleas.
It's still raining but supposed to stop soon. The air is so clean and cool void of pollen pollution. It's been a while but I decided to do #MonochromeMonday for #Mondog Have a good week, everyone.
A storm is on the way, and I don't feel 100% this morning. So, we just went to the closest county park after a grocery run. No frills, just a simple Sunday walk. That's what Sunday is about, sometimes. I added more azaleas to brighten up the mood.

My eyes were a pollen mess driving back home. As soon as I got home, I removed my contact lens, washed my face, eyes, and put on eye drops. Then we could stay a bit outside together. More different variety of azaleas are in bloom. One more day.
