Cadi Gwiddon 🏳️⚧️🏴☠️🏳️🌈
As I walk into a forest clearing, there is stirring, I feel it distinctly as a motion away.

Squirrels, chipmunks, bees, birds, all flee before me. I feel I have interrupted their daily lives with my walk, but in actuality they flee in fear. I am an invader, a destroyer, a hunter, a monster. My kind have come into their spaces before and ravaged them, destroyed their homes, killed them, eaten them; they have a right to be afraid. It is rare when one of us enters their space in peace, with the express intent of appreciation.

As I stand still writing this, they have stopped fleeing, they return to their sacred work of living.

#Nature #Appreciation #Journal
