I'd really like to know what is the exact difference between current #AllenHeath preamps and AD converts such as those in the #AllenHeathCQ or #AllenHeathSQ series… and standard #RME gear such as the old and new #Fireface series.
Why? Because the CQ12t is a lot more convenient to use for me than my old Fireface 400. Yet the Fireface's two mic inputs seem to be the best preamps I own.

Die meisten Nutzer von solchen Funksystemen für Headsets wissen nicht, wie man die Frequenzen einstellt. Auch gegen die Feedback-Anfälligkeit der Mics mit Kugel-Charakteristik haben sie keine Waffen (oder wissen nicht, wie man sie bedient). Naja. Das sind so die kleinen Dinge, die mir den Job sicherer machen.

My band uses a Behringer x32 Rack with a SD32. Its been solid. I mean, it works fine.
However, I needed another rig sorta like the x32 rack to do another project. So……I got an Allen Heath CQ-20B.
I must say, this thing is small, and fucking amazing. It sounds great. It has 8 XLR inputs, 8 XLR Combo inputs, 2 1/4 stereo line inputs, 6 XLR outs, and a XLR L/R, plus headphone, and two alt outputs 1/4 (which can be a doubling of any of the other outputs).

It’s not that big.
UI is insane. Really responsive
So much I/O
It has 2 stage boxes hooked up with SLink the dx164-w boxes
It has a Dante card that is going to talk to a qsys core nano which we are going to talk to.
I’ll do a full dive into it soonish…..
Hmm, there seems to be a #allenheath announcement next week for a new link of compact digital mixers.
Sadly, the “biggest" one only has 16 inputs….
Took 4 weeks but the studio is finally back up & running. Sadly when the monitors crashed onto the mixer & buckled the rack units in the desk it damaged 2 of the DB-25 cables connected to the Presonus Quantum 4848 interface. So until I can replace the cables I'm "limited" to 24 tracks in & out. I'm really excited to have things running again.

They have lost a lot of ground to other consoles like SSL, AH dLive and others. Python and midi/tcp based tool to prepare channel lists for Allen & Heath dlive & Avantis. Based on a spreadsheet the following parameters can be preconfigured and in one or more steps be written into real dlive systems or into dLive Director via midi/tcp. Additionally from the same spreadsheet a DAW recording session for Reaper can be generated.
I'm becoming a fan of the mixingstation.app program. Anyone have any good tutorials on it? It's great so far.
I specifically need some help with a A&H QU-24 board, I have to help setup the mixer for a show next week and am doing a deep dive on how it works. Little sad that A&H don't have a computer program for it…..
