VSThese aren't meant to be good, but sharing is caring. I picked up a LomoApparat 21 mm Wide-angle Camera Alexanderplatz Edition for fun. It's a film camera and why I recently picked up the Olympus from my previous post. That said, there's a feeling, a vibe if you will, of nostalgia that creeped in while looking at these shots so I figured I would post t hem to see if anyone else felt it. Erkennbar ist der rund 11 Kilometer lange Abschnitt an den einst mehr als 700 Viaduktbögen, in denen sich heute teils Geschäfte befinden. Die Stadtbahn, die beginnend im 19. Jahrhundert tatsächlich eine Eisenbahnlinie war, wurde erbaut, um die acht Kopfbahnhöfe verschiedener Eisenbahnunternehmen am Rande Berlins miteinander zu verbinden. Vergleichbar ist dies mit Paris und seinen sechs großen Kopfbahnhöfen; einen richtigen zentralen Hauptbahnhof gibt es dort nicht. Heute steht die Stadtbahn in Berlin synonym für die Strecke, nicht die Linie. Auf ihr fahren die S-Bahnen, der Regional- und Fernverkehr. Die richtige Antwort in der obigen Umfrage kannte nur jede*r Vierte, aber nach meiner Beobachtung wissen selbst viele Berliner*innen nicht, was die Stadtbahn eigentlich ist.
