'Flow' is a Wake-Up Call for Climate Change
Just saw a news headline saying, roughly, "Academy Awards changes rules; now judges have to have seen all the films in a category in order to vote on it", and I'm like, wait, they previously didn't have to‽ WTF‽
Did they have to watch *any* of them? What's going on here?

So, I propose a petition.
It's a bit radical.
The #AcademyAwards organization must throw out every single Oscar they've awarded, going back 95 years ... and do it all over again.
With judges that promise to actually watch every film in each category they vote in, before they vote.
Thoughts?
Would you sign such a petition?

Look, I know the World is falling apart and there are ~859 higher priority fires that need to be put out.
That said, this whole #AcademyAwards thing is really bugging me.
Nutshell: After 95 years, they just decided to add a rule that the judges are required to watch all the movies nominated in a category before they are allowed to vote.
Read that again, if you need to.
Judges have been routinely watching the 1-3 movies that get all the buzz, ignoring all the others, and voting.

Engadget: Using generative AI will ‘neither help nor harm the chances of achieving’ Oscar nominations. “The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decide that its official stance towards AI-use in films is to take no stance at all, according to a statement the organization shared outlining changes to voting for the 98th Oscars. The issue of award-nominated films using AI was first […]

Today in Labor History April 21, 1915: Anthony Quinn was born. Quinn was a Mexican-American actor, painter, writer, and film director. He played the titular role in Zorba the Greek and was nominated for the Academy Award for best actor. And he did win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor twice: for “Viva Zapata!” (1952) and “Lust for Life” (1956). As a child, Quinn experienced considerable racism growing up in Los Angeles. He later participated in several civil rights and social causes. He supported the Spanish-Speaking People's Congress. He also helped raise funds for the legal defense of Mexican American youth in the racially charged Sleepy Lagoon murder trial in 1942. He also supported the 1963 March on Washington and visited Native American activists occupying Alcatraz Island.

Since the early days of film, there've been stunt designers and performers who make leaping through glass windows, flipping cars and escaping from burning buildings look realistic. Now, they have the chance to get an Oscar for it. Thanks to the campaigning of former stunt performer and "The Fall Guy" director David Leitch, the Academy Board of Governors approved a new category for stunt design, which will start in 2027. Here's more from @Variety. Tell us in the comments the most impressive or memorable movie or TV stunt you can think of.
It only took 100 years, but the Academy Awards will finally create a category for Achievement in Stunt Design for the 100th ceremony for films released in 2027.
