AkaSci 🛰️<p>The SMBH in Abel 1201 has not been directly imaged, like Sgr A* and the SMBH in M87 were by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) team.<br />But if we were to use the image of the SMBH in M87 and draw the event horizon of the 32.7 billion solar mass SMBH in Abel 1201, it would look like this. The event horizon radius is about 16x that of the average orbital radius of Pluto and about 4x the distance to the Voyager 1 spacecraft.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/BlackHole" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BlackHole</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/SMBH" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SMBH</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Abel1201" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Abel1201</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Science" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Science</span></a><br />3/n</p>
