Fantastic article from @SaraSoueidan examining CSS Carousels implemented with the new features in CSS Overflow 5, and the depressingly-numerous (yet entirely unsurprising) accessibility issues they present.

Along the way, she deftly explains the core concepts of accessible semantics and screen reader testing, so the article is understandable even if you have no prior knowledge of those things.

I've started using Voice Control occasionally in day to day life. One thing I couldn't figure out was how to send a message when it *and* voice dictation were active without the command being dictated.

Instead of turning on dictation by saying 48 (to tap the dictation button) what I should have been doing was say "dictation mode”, speak my message, and then say “command mode” to properly get out of dictating.

Then I can have Voice Control send the message.

I was going to install the "Ally – Web Accessibility & Usability" plugin, but apparently that requires an Elementor account ... and I have no desire to create an account on some 3rd party site just to install a plugin on the site I'm building.

I'm looking at the "WP Accessibility" plugin by Joe Dolson. It appears to only have options for font size & contrast, and positioning the toolbar isn't ideal. 2/x

What are people using for accessibility plugins on WordPress sites these days? While I try to make my themes as accessible as possible, I know I'm missing things. And due to the nature of this client, having an accessibility plugin is definitely a good thing to have. 1/x

#a11y question. If you have a unordered list (semantically) but are not displaying the bullets through css, is that valid or should you also display bullets to make it easier to read? It's 3 short "paragraphs" of content visually now
