I've been playing 7 Days to Die to try out the new stable build. At first I was not in love with the idea that you had to make yourself "smoothies" to venture into other biomes, but I got used to that and eventually earned the badges that allow me to bypass the special drink. Well, I earned 3. I am holding off on the last biome. It seems kinda scary.
The storms are a bit aggravating. I think they are designed to 1) trap players in buildings they haven't cleared 2) cause you to have to use up the food/drink you're carrying.
I don't leave home with fewer than 10 drinks and 10 meals, so it isn't going to weaken my character, but for folks who like to travel light, it might get in their ways. Some of those storms are ridiculously long.
Otherwise, it seems fine. I've run into some new POIs that I liked. I seem to be finding a LOT more AP and HP ammo in loot than I ever did before. I have encountered one blue irradiated zombie, but she wasn't too difficult.
One thing that was a LOT harder to get used to were the special zombies they added to the desert biome. I'm going to skip going into a lot of detail, in case someone is spoiler-conscious (the rest of the stuff I've mentioned is pretty obvious and in the update notes).
But those guys. THOSE. GUYS. They were a lot.
Oh, and be careful when breaking stumps. Everyone is accustomed to chopping up stumps to try to find honey (which can resolve an infection if you get bitten). But I chopped up a stump and got HURT! IYKYK
Overall it's still a game I enjoy playing. I've gotten to the point in my new world where I have the best weapon, the best armor, and I've got a motorcycle (I can't yet make a 4 x 4 but I am close). So my character is about as "buff" as she can get. Maybe I could switch out a few mods, but otherwise she's in good shape. I've met 4 of the traders, so I'm medium-high on my quest tiers (I still feel like I'm getting robbed on quest loot - I guess I need more points in Lucky Looter).
I'm going to have to take a break from questing soon and spend a night just mining iron. It's going to take a bunch to make the truck (and the gyrocopter), and then I should start upgrading my base to steel.
If you like crafting/survival games, and you like defeating zombies, and if somehow you have never played 7 Days to Die, I would recommend it.
