BrianKrebs
The POTUS has issued a memo ordering a federal investigation into Chris Krebs, former head of DHS's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The president fired Krebs after the CISA director declared the 2020 election that Trump lost was the most secure in U.S. history.

"Trump's orders revoked the security clearances for Christopher Krebs, the former head of DHS's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and Miles Taylor, a former senior DHS official who wrote a highly critical tell-all book about his time in Trump's first administration."

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/04/09/trump-orders-probe-krebs-2020-election/83016002007/

https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/04/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-addresses-risks-from-chris-krebs-and-government-censorship/

When Trump first took aim at Chris Krebs back in 2020, I started getting tons of hate mail that was directed at him. People full of ignorant rage figuring we're the same person because we share a last name. We're not even related.

Now it's happening again. Here's one I just got less than an hour ago:

From: Eric <eticket@countermail.com>
Subject: Accountability

Message Body:
Krebs:

I used to be an admirer of yours but, ever since the 2020 election, I lost all respect for you.

You either lied or were complicit in the 2020 election theft and DJT is coming after you.

Krooks like Krebs need to be held accountable and I can't wait.

Craig Hockenberry
As you look at your 401K in shambles, keep in mind that someone in this administration made an “investment" that earned 2,100% _in one hour_.

If you knew what they knew, you could have made $2.1M from $100K today. Or if you're an asshole billionaire, a lot more.

Good luck investigating this insider trading. Guess which branch of government is in charge of monitoring this illegal behavior?

evacide
So much of cybersecurity is "We must secure the Orphan Crushing Machine so that unauthorized people do not crush the orphans," and not "Why the fuck are you building an Orphan Crushing Machine in the first place?"

Jan Wildeboer 😷:krulorange:
So Trump just declared a 90 day pause on all new tariffs, except for China. This is the biggest dump and pump scheme I have ever seen. How much insider trading from people that knew this would happen a few hours before it was announced has happened? We will never know. This back and forth will only erode trust in the US even more. What a mess.

Matt Blaze
Unfortunately, I have to say this again:

US election infrastructure isn't perfect and there's still work to do to make it more secure. But there is simply no credible evidence that the 2020 election outcome was altered through technical attacks, despite exhaustive scrutiny.

Shortly after the 2020 election, when these discredited claims were first raised, 58 of my colleagues and I issued this statement:

https://www.mattblaze.org/papers/election2020.pdf .

Nothing we've learned since then alters my assessment.
