DNS... it'll get ya every time (if the cert doesn't get ya first).

Baby's first Lord of the Rings marathon this weekend. ๐Ÿงโ€โ™‚๏ธโš”๏ธ๐Ÿ’

I could have sworn I had that semicolon decoration too, but it seems to be...missing. Terrifying indeed.

First Halloween as a homeowner and I'm stoked to decorate. Cobwebs, ghosts, and a failing regex test that another dev wrote 5 years ago. SpoOoOoky!

Don't forget : today at 14:01:15 (GMT) Internet will die ๐Ÿ™„ ยซ Let's Encrypt's Root Certificate is expiring ! ยป />

Still overjoyed, even if there's some pain and lack of sleep / coding. I wrote these toots with my newborn asleep on my chest and it was great.

I've been complaining a lot (and I'm about to again), but I'm still so happy to be a dad.

How do parents, especially those in tech, deal with back pain? I feel like I'm forever hunched forward, bending over, or carrying something heavy in a weird position.

I can feel the years of working with split ortholinear keyboards (and vim) being undone.

I know I should have used this two hour window for sleep, but I had to try out Diablo 2 Resurrected (on the switch).

So much nostalgia. I played hundreds of hours when the original D2+LOD came out and it's just as fun as I remember.

The graphics are nicer, but I wouldn't care either way. The game holds up just fine (even without the hand-holding that modern games do so often). The fact I can play on a handheld is really awesome too.

I hope I get to sleep one day. I haven't had more than 2 consecutive hours since Monday and I'm currently on hour 26 of being awake.

He's an awesome little dude but this newborn phase is rough.

I'm really starting to see the value of now that I've got a kid. Automatic photo uploads (with good sharing options), easy ways to take quick notes, and pretty solid todo lists.

I may have zero idea how to be a parent, but at least I'm moderately organized :nextcloud:

I have a much deeper appreciation for coffee now that I'm sleeping in 20 - 140 minute chunks of time :ablobcatcoffee:

One of our friends just found out that their kid was exposed to someone with COVID who was not vaccinated...who works at their daycare. That's one of the worst jobs to work while unvaccinated. Fortunately it seems like the kiddo is okay.

I'm a dad!

Still at the hospital, but everyone is doing well ๐Ÿฃ

Power went out last night and my raspberry pi got shut down...which meant my website went down too. That's a fun new problem I'm not use to!

Interviewing is both important and exhausting ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I've decided to finally switch over to neovim. There's been too many neat projects that aren't compatible with vim that I've been meaning to try (treesitter, telescope, etc).

I'm also not a fan of the "Keep me alive" plan for vim's future.

Sometimes I get frustrated when I have to remember which team prefers to communicate in email, slack, Jira comments, GitHub issues (the list goes on)...

So I made a helpful guide:

I need email recommendations.
Before you ask, no this is not about the recent ProtonMail thing.

I literally can't make a new ProtonMail account unless I use either a non-ProtonMail email or a phone number as verification.

Please don't recommend disroot, their signup page is absolute atrocious.

Spent the last few hours struggling with mbsync. I like the idea of having a local copy of my emails but I can't get the dang thing to authenticate.
