Fancy an accelerometer-equipped skirt?
Fediverse, what's your favourite #gemini server?
I'm kinda testing the waters with this now and I'm really liking it.
Currently I'm testing locally with jetforce as it was the easiest to install.
BTW if you have info docs tutorials on
a) how to export to HTML in order to run a WWW replica?
b) how to best set up a public server?
c) what hosting service is your fav?
d) anything else you might deem useful to a newcomer
it's most appreciated.
Just a heads up, I am gonna be hosting the gemini chat/user talk/Q&A online at FOSDEM on Sunday @ 1500 hours, UTC+1 (:
Here is the event in the schedule (:
the 20-person-ish startup I work at is hiring a data systems engineer
It would particularly make me happy to have more queer people to work with.
Our engineering team is mostly located in Portland, Oregon but we're open to hiring fully remote employees.
Included are some snippets from our company handbook.
Anyone use something like Grammarly, but not Grammarly, for writing?
Honestly, I think Grammarly is great, but it's just too expensive. I use the free version, but I'd like to see what else is out there. There's a lot of search hits, but nothing beats recommendations based on real experience.
I think my only real criteria is that it has to have a browser plugin. I write almost entirely online and copy/pasting big chunks of text around is a crappy experience.
I was wondering if there was any clean CSS libraries with a design as clean as #sourcehut
I tried to look into sourcehut's source code and there's a lot of scss (with bootstrap as submodule); taking it alone is pretty overwhelming..
(In other words, I'd love to see a sourcehut standalone css library)
Hey! I've packaged my gemini browser as flatpak!
If you want to try it out, you can download the flatpak file from here:
I also added a new icon.
It's an alpha though. When the stable release will be ready, i will push it on flathub.
How long does your Linux desktop/laptop computer take to boot into desktop?
‼️NOTE: This is cold boot time, not waking up from hibernation. You may include Windows boot time only if you disabled "fast boot" as it uses hibernation.
- Subtract boot menu cooldown if it was included.
- Do 𝗡𝗢𝗧 answer according to "systemd-analyze".
- Use a chronometer (stopwatch) for true result.
- 𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗗𝗘 login screen time. I want to know the time it takes to get to your working environment. GUI or not.
I like FOSS, Rust, and Linux
