Guess what? Now, accessing object properties using the dot operator is not kosher:
At this point,
these kinds of "best practices" are just syntactical self-flagellation, it seems.

People freely modifying copyright licenses... 🤦🏻♀️
Guys, seriously, a license is a legal document. Legal documents are almost like code: you *must* write them with precision and taking the legal framework into account. Most of the modifications I see are well-intended, but open lots of cans of worms...
I'm happy to help with anyone who needs to modify/write a license. IANAL, but I'm Foreign Rights Manager at a publishing house and this stuff is a huge part of my job.
I'm still looking for a #coop in Europe to join as a software developer.
Can anyone recommend one, or know of a co-op directory of sorts? Or maybe you're setting up a co-op and like an extra pair of hands to make it happen?
Hey @LemmyDev , the official instance (lemmy.ml) seems to be federating with a known tankie instance (lemmygrad[.]ml):
That instance has several... problematic... threads, for example celebrating Stalin and denying Uyghur genocide.
Do you perhaps see this as a problem?
anyway here is a reminder that if you are cis and looking for ways you can be a Good Trans Ally, please join me in this endeavor by questioning every single entity behind registration forms that require you to declare m or f. talking points include:
* why do you need this information?
* will you be verifying this with an ID check of some sort, and is that consistent regardless of someone's appearance?
* what options do you provide for someone who cannot answer either m or f?
Hi there, here’s a little #introduction
I retrained (after years of repairing computers for friends and family), a couple of years ago to be an IT tech. I landed a job, which required me to automate many tasks with PowerShell, and I fell in the automation trap! so, I am currently learning Python. So here I am, to meet like-minded people, to share opinions, projects, virtual beverages…
I like FOSS, Rust, and Linux
BLM! Trans rights!
Come read my random thoughts.
