@yano You can also copy the existing config, edit the copy, then run it with "sshd -D -p <testport> -f <copy of config file>".
-D causes the process not to fork to a daemon, so you can monitor the output
-p <testport> has it run on a different port number, so you can leave the existing sshd running
-f <copy of config file> lets you tinker with the file, testing it and changing as needed, without being able to break the current sshd.
