@xmpp I think that Matrix is better in the sense that there is one specification and two official reference implementations, one in Python and one in golang while XMPP has a base specification and dozens of additional specification and end to end encryption is either provided by OpenPGP, Off the Record or the newer specification and all of these are incompatible with one another.
@JoeBecomeTheSun @xmpp The OP post is about funding for open source software. Whether Matrix is "better" or not than XMPP is another thing, and as far as I am concerned that is also a matter of taste and personal choice. #europe
