By bridging the gap between MIS and Russian roulette and splitting, we allocate a local, efficiency-guided budget to every technique automatically. We beat state-of-the-art performance in path guiding and bidirectional path tracing.

I finally got around to uploading the source code of our paper, MARS, which we will be presenting at #Siggraph Asia 2024.
