#Win98Challenge: Get your software to run on a machine with 64MiB of RAM and 2GiB of disk space.
I haven't been insane all of these years. I just walked in on a Windows 10 laptop that was "supposed to be off" spinning its fan like crazy, only to drop back into sleep mode 10 seconds after I started wiggling the mouse and mashing buttons.
Does anyone know why this would be happening, other than the (obvious, boring, low-explanatory-power) "Windows does stuff in secret" hypothesis?
Wow its amazing all the apps/services @nextcloud can replace:
Calendar, contacts, todo list, Google Drive/Dropbox, bookmark sync, Google Keep/notes, Evernote, Pocket/ReaditLater, RSS reader, password manager, Google Photos, internet radio, Google Hangouts/chat, project management, eBook reader/manager, even documents and spreadsheets with OpenOffice or Collabora.
Can't wait till I get everything switched over!
Should I review that Motherboard article* talking about Gab? And point out at every step where they got their facts wrong?
It's a fucking mess and literally already the first line is not even inaccurate, it's completely misrepresentative of Mastodon development.

@brandon Your blog is running on Hugo, correct? Do you know if it would be possible to implement a custom output format to serve a Mastodon-compatible ActivityPub interface, considering the non-(GET|POST) verbs required?
@meonkeys I think this problem highlights how much the use of cookies is unnecessary.
Why does a new site, which I'm not logging into, need to place a cookie in my browser? Answer is that they don't NEED to. They want to. But the reasons they present, do not correlate with their intent.
I don't keep important data on my local disk, but that doesn't mean I don't need to make backups.
- Google contacts and calendar
- Google passwords
- Google Docs
- Goodreads Library
- Fosstodon follows
Of course, you may care about more than that. But the point is, do make backups of your data stored in the cloud. Preferably local ones. I keep mine on encrypted USB sticks in a safe in my house.
#Timidity. I hate you so.
If anybody else has upgraded to #Buster and found their #sound not working, please run:
systemctl stop timidity; pulseaudio -k
and see if it works. Timidity seems to steal exclusive control of the sound card at boot, rendering pulseaudio unable to access it, which is a minor pain.
@neb The have just faked the numbers... easy to do. Another instance did a similar thing a while back. Gab has just a couple of 100's users.
I wouldn't trust anything coming from that instance...
#NumptyPhysics is a crayon #physics game.
In Numpty Physics you must get the red object to the star. Throughout the game several different types of obstacles will block your path, like walls, gaps, and levers. You move this object through the level by drawing different objects like triangles and ramps. Custom levels can also be created using the same tools which are used to play the levels.

I got the link from the write-up (https://runyourown.social) @gwmngilfen's toot (https://fosstodon.org/@gwmngilfen/102407414645669579) linked to.
Might wanna check what wires/chargers you have before purchasing the Pi 4.
I am fairly certain that I am human. But pseudo-intellectual remarks aside, and enough with my floccinaucinihilipilification of sesquipedalian loquaciousness.
