Werwolf :gnu:

Hey fediverse, I've recently created a privacy recommendations site (see previous posts) and since I want it to be community based, I need a place to discuss what should be recommended.

Something like a forum, but self-hosting a forum requires a lot of spam moderation and that's something I'd like to avoid.

There's also Lemmy (a federated and libre Reddit alternative) but it's JS heavy. I'm considering the possibility of a mailing list.

I want to hear your opinions, boosts appreciated

@werwolf similar to lemmy, there is lotide which doesn’t require JS at all. As for sourcehut, i heard @cnx was going to host one but not yet

@xarvos, SourceHut on NixOS is awaiting these fixes (testing it is in my long todo list): https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/173678

I don’t think listssrht is the most suitable choice for a mailing-list mailing list though, due to tight coupling with metasrht. It’s meant for patches integration @werwolf would probably want mailman or public-inbox instead.

GitHubsourcehut : fixes and updates by ju1m · Pull Request #173678 · NixOS/nixpkgsDescription of changes Update sourcehut packages to latest versions. Workaround gqlgen problem with buildGoModule's -trimpath, when building the new *srht-api. Fix Unix socket support for Redis...
@werwolf >but it's JS heavy
I am currently writing a bash client for it, by which I mean I add to it whenever I remember to check it. It is actually kinda ok, surprisingly.
