@Quenti @nextcloud Weblate is better than Transifex and can boost the translations by 400% or more.
If NextCloud is listening to translators.
Transifex was sold recently to another company. Moving to Weblate is giving the money to Weblate to support FLOSS projects.
Will you do the whole work of integrating of sync processes and move the community?
@rakekniven Alone I cannot but I have friends on @weblate that can advise NextCloud professionally to sync the project.
I'll bring all my friends translators and localizers in many languages and even under-ressourced languages.
But we need a clear workflow. Starting may be with small components of the project.
@rakekniven cc @jibec already achieved a huge work on Fedora Weblate by synching a lot of projects and components and documentation with the support of the @weblate team.
@ButterflyOfFire
@rakekniven
Yeah, it consumed a lot of energy and the result is really positive
To be honest, as a paid contract I could do it for nextcloud.
As a contributor, I am not sure I'll be able to do more than answering question/help on little tasks. It takes lot of work hours to get it done.
@weblate
@nextcloud We’re ready to help you with #LiberateYourTranslations, and growing your localization community. That’s what we do, with care. We have experience and use cases with numerous migrations from TF to #Weblate. Many of #Nextcloud translators use Weblate with other projects already. You’re welcome
Do you know which sticker was the most popular with Nextcloud users this #FOSDEM? @Karlitschek also liked them, and @jospoortvliet took many of them cc @jibec @ButterflyOfFire @rakekniven
Good luck @weblate ... While @nextcloud talks about FOSS and decentralization, people have been asking them for years about using #Peertube and #Weblate, but it's always crickets and continued exclusive use of #YouTube and #Transifex.
There's virtually never even a response why they exclusively use the closed, #centralized, #proprietary services.
I respect @Karlitschek and @jospoortvliet but the org seems only interested in #FOSS / #Privacy / #decentralization in their own code / marketing.
