I wrote about my Ambilight setup using HyperHDR: https://vigonotion.com/blog/diy-ambilight-with-hdmi-2-1-support/
@vigonotion any chance you could give me some more details of the items in your setup? I’m looking to create something similar. What USB capture card did you use (was it just 4K)? Did you have to use a specific type of Raspberry Pi? Any help would be appreciated!
@Jholla I use a Pi 4 and this capture card: https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B0BL3HVMWW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title The splitter is this one: https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B0B56D7NJW?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title I didn’t add the links to the blog post because I think most capture cards and splitters will do, but I might add them as reference. If your splitter can downscale, the capture card does not even need 4k support, but I used a 4K one anyway
@vigonotion Thank you, much appreciated! So you only had 1 HDMI input with your setup? If I wanted to have multiple sources (Apple TV, console, etc.), what would you recommend?
@Jholla technically yes, I added a HDMI Switch in front of it (https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B0BQ3VP78M?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title) thats the only manual thing though, didn‘t have time to automate that one yet
@vigonotion Ah nice, thanks! Would you be able to share how you have your setup wired? (HDMI Switch > Splitter > Pi, etc)
@Jholla I updated the original blog post to include the wiring diagram: https://vigonotion.com/blog/diy-ambilight-with-hdmi-2-1-support/#wiring (i also added the amazon links now in case anybody else needs it)
