Exactly 20 years ago my Developer account was created. During that time I initiated the project, was part of the , , and modules teams and was responsible for , , , and some other small packages. Unfortunately I wasn't really active during the last few years, I hope this will change again soon...

@Irkiosan Absolutely yes. Just waiting for the build for the 5 so I can finally upgrade to my new phone, which is still waiting in a drawer since I got it...

The billboards say: "Privacy. That's iPhone"

Meanwhile Apple ensures three letter agencies have access to iCloud backups.

They already did this in China. No surprise.

There's a word for privacy and security claims that lack accountability. Marketing.

I'm really sad to hear that Thomas decided to leave all social networks and with it the development of #Fedilab.

It was always my preferred app for #Mastodon and #Friendica. I will continue to use it as long as possible and hope that others will pick it up.

I can understand his decision on a personal level and wish him all the best. We should not allow such toxic behavior in our communities and take a clear stance against it.

Any single entity that thinks they can protect a huge pile of valuable data forever is as naive as I once was.

We must stop taking the easy road or picking things based only on their UX.

Learn to use decentralized systems and teach others or the free internet won't survive.

#Debian has a new homepage - and I love the leading headline: "Debian is a #Community of People." Yes, it is also a Free operating system, but at a deeper level, the social contract reveals what it's really about: making the world a better place through software.

I have been a #Debian developer almost a quarter of a century now and I am glad to see these ideals continue to thrive.

Every time I am critical of Apple, Google, Zoom, Keybase, Signal, Telegram, Whatsapp, TikTok, or other popular centralized walled gardens, I lose a few followers.

Thanks to #FreeSoftware developers, the German #CoronaWarnApp for tracing #COVID19 risk contacts is available on @fdroidorg without any Google dependencies. This not only fosters software freedom, but also sets the ground for innovative features.
