traversable instance
I am sort of caught between wanting to watch the disaster unfold, realizing my presence on the bird site is something I am becoming increasingly uncomfortable with, and not totally sold on the viability of Mastodon in specific or the Fediverse as general model. What do I want from social media shifts often, but I follow a lot of tech folks and I have had good exchanges and gotten wind of some interesting projects-and I worry that I won’t have those chance exposures often enough here.

Prof. Stefan Rahmstorf
My view: The climate loss&damage fund should also be filled by those companies who knowingly sell a dangerous product and actively mislead the public about the risks and lobby against climate policy. Precedent is the tobacco companies’ case.

traversable instance
It’s hopefully nothing, but Trump back on Twitter doesn’t seem like its going to go well I think for anyone, regardless of how they voted

traversable instance
Wondering if all those sites with social logins are going to craft a remediation strategy for users in case Twitter unexpectedly shuts down (personally I think the odds are lower than the general vibe on the bird site or here). I know I use a few such logins, and could probably figure out which ones i need to change though I’d rather be actively informed.

traversable instance
Hi, I was playing around with the mastodon api, and it claims in the OAuth section that it supports the password grant flow, but the endpoint `/oauth/token` only seems to accept grant types of authorization_code or client_credentials. Anybody had any experience using the password flow, unlike Twitter there’s no public search

traversable instance
For reasons I can’t fully explain-posts like these make me irrationally angry. The OP here is talking about ex employees of the bird app cloning it somehow. I think in this case it’s a combination of the breezy arrogance and the phrase “a database to model many-to-many” is what’s setting me off here

traversable instance
Made it! :ablobfoxhyper: Still has that new account smell!
