What I hate about april 1st is that it spans more than a day -- australiens try to get me the day before, americans the day after -- it disrupts my work/life-flow and a really funny one is seldom -- I'm getting old, I have seen a prank or two; I'd go so far as to say, that a really good april-fools prank has to be local/personal; maybe I'm just getting grumpy
@tomterl I know the feeling. I pretty much just boycott the Internet on the 1st (my own timezone), and I apply EXTREME skepticism to anything I read for a week on either end of that. Seems like overkill, but I find little humor in "pranks" that are indistinguishable from reality.
