Where did you hear for #Mastodon first? My first encounter was via #LibremSocial launched last year, now migrated to #Fosstodon and like it better.

@Igorjagec I got sick of being distracted by social networks and stopped using them completely about a year ago, and was pretty happy about it. Recently while becoming more privacy aware and same time getting into self-hosting storage and websites, I stumbled across "self-hosted social networks" and mastodon intrigued me.
@teatime my problem with social media is that's the only platform I can communicate with my family, so I can't delete my facebook just like that, unfortunately. This space is okay because there's no general public, trolls, etc., but tech savvy people.
