With the fall of freenode and rise of libera.chat, one thing is clear to me:

Not everyone in the FOSS community wants or have resources(time/money) to self-host everything and a centralized service isn't too bad for things that are open and public.

In fact, a lot of people and projects think it's totally fine to move from one centralized service to another.
I guess, I can stop feeling the guilt of not hosting my own things :)

@surendrajat you have to know your strengths and in what you find joy; if you don't find joy in hosting your own stuff and have enough trust in the hosted solution, why would you host it yourself?

My main concern is continuation; I want to be able to self-host in case the company in question decides to pull a Google, then I want to continue myself 😃
