Switching to Chrome because you think Mozilla isn't strict enough about FLOSS or privacy is like a protest vote for Trump.

I fondly remember a time when being on the company channel meant you were available and logging off meant you were not. Also nobody was expected to read every line posted in there to keep track of what's going on. I wonder if companies adopting are aware of the different workflow they are adopting by using tools which can ping you everywhere at anytime. (Yes, I am aware that you can turn those off.)

Note that their next steps involve using “AI” in their weapons. @PyTorch, @TensorFlow, @scikit_learn, @NumFOCUS consider taking action to keep blood off of your/our hands

We reeeeeally need to use licensing techniques that disallow defense + law enforcement from using our software. It probably won’t stop them, but it’s the first step toward legally combatting code from being used for evil shit twitter.com/willrop3r/status/1

Today I woke up and saw someone posting an article entitled "If You Are Not Happy with the State of Magic, Stop Giving Wizards Your Money"

It's about Magic the Gathering, but man. It really took me a minute.

this isn't just an issue with rust. i wish i could tell all teams of engineers- the performance most teams should be prioritizing is how quickly you can onboard someone to your code and how quickly you can update and/or change that code

Wow Firefox, Brave, WordPress, EFF, DuckDuckGo and others getting together to allow your browser to send the signal to websites you visit and indicate your privacy choices! Seems like a real deal! Love this idea! 👏

Possibly unpopular opinion: I never saw a reason to move to zsh from bash. I tried both fish and zsh but never found any good reasons to switch.

The shortcut for mute on Google Meet is ^D

I assume whoever made that decision hasn't worked with a terminal before.

I installed Crysis 3 on my graphics card!

I used some VRAMdrive software called GPU Ram Drive, made a 15GB NTFS partition on the GPU, then installed Crysis 3 on it

At 4K very high settings get good fps and the game loads very fast - GPU-Z reports total VRAM use 20434MB

Yay for but JSON for configruation is ugh

Kinda like homebrew.
