Just found dashdash.io

Linux commands manuals presented beautifully! This will be bookmarked for all the intros to chats/convos I find myself in.

A large percentage of FOSS community members including myself have (via personal blogs, social networks, the FSF channels in Freenode, the support letter, etc.) defended Richard Stallman, the right to free speech, and objective truth in the face of gratuitous ad hominem attacks.

Today, RMS has put out a public statement on the issue:

@sphyphes Try reading https://clig.dev/ for the clean and robust part.
But how you implement it, depends on what you want it to do.
So what would the app do?

Hi Fosstodon,

I would like to develop a bash app, I have basics in bash scripting, but where should I start to develop a robust and clean CLI app (written mainly in bash)? Any good resources? Examples?

Thx

Keep you updated ;)

Cheers

I'm slapping Fedora + Gnome 40 on my x86 MacBook. Using the live iso it looks like everything is working nicely. The gestures seem to be just as good as what I'm used to from MacOS. Linux desktop is here, y'all.

Bien du plaisir à ceux qui vont devoir gérer cette posture psychorigide 😱

@sphyphes
This is not what you ask, but btrfs allows to do an in place conversion of an ext4 filesystem. Be sure to have a backup, but I can attest it works.

Hi all,

I currently have a install (ext4)

Let's say I wanna make a fresh install (with btrfs), but I wanna keep all of my settings:
- SSH keys
- installed dnf and flatpak apps and manually configured repos (eg vivaldi)
- GNOME Shell settings (caffeine, dashtodock, sound input and output chooser)
- GNOME Tweaks settings
- etc.

Is there a straightforward solution for that? An easy export solution?
