Happy to announce that the new version 2.10.2 of our Android app landed in F-Droid and Google Play over the weekend πŸŽ‰

This one brings in a lot of fixes and improvements from Conversations, and adds a new in-call dialpad feature.

The dialpad will be valuable for people who use the app with XMPP gateways such as and need to navigate automated phone systems.

Watch this space for upcoming releases of the Snikket iOS app and server software too πŸ™‚

@raimondaslapinskas Hey, thanks for your interest in Snikket πŸ™‚

To get started you need either your own Snikket server or to receive an invitation from someone who already has one set up.

If you're into self-hosting, you can set up your own server with minimal effort by following

Alternatively, you can easily start a new server in a few clicks via our hosted service: (currently beta)

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions πŸ™‚

@snikket_im very annoying when you have 7mb limit on pictures in the chat app.

@raimondaslapinskas Hi! The maximum limit is 16MB, the same as WhatsApp uses when sharing media. You should have no trouble with a 7MB file!

That said, a new server release is on the way which raises the 16MB limit to 100MB πŸ₯³

@raimondaslapinskas Long-press on the image, and choose "Show error message" - what does it say? And what server are you using the app with? A Snikket hosted instance?

@snikket_im i am using snikket hosted instance - error say response code was 502

@raimondaslapinskas Thanks for the extra details! If you long-press on the image and choose "Send again", does it work?

If not, please email with your server name and we can look into the possible causes. Sorry about this issue! I'm sure we can solve it πŸ™‚
