This is great news! However even though I love xmpp I feel adoption won't increase until we have a cross platform flagship app, like matrix has done with element/riot and an instance picker within it.
The barrier to entry needs to be reduced significantly so nontechnical users can connect with ease.

@snikket_im wow, you're on a very promising path:). As a #yunohost user, the web panel is fantastic, and easy to use.
One superficial point to make. Find a experienced UX designer to make it look modern and friendly. There are many artists/designers on the fediverse that would love to contribute. @mcpaccard did an amazing job with mobizilon, maybe she's available for consulting when the time comes.
@lps @mcpaccard Thanks for the tips! Yes, UX is a very important topic. See also the related project at https://docs.modernxmpp.org/ - part of the same initiative, but with a broader scope encompassing all XMPP IM clients.
@lps thank you! And yes, I'd be delighted to give a hand :) @snikket_im
@mcpaccard @snikket_im that's an amazing offer!
FYI I would gladly back a fundraiser when/if this would ever happen:)
@lps
It would be great if we could collect pledges towards specific aspects of Snikket dev, such as apps for specific OS, or in this case UX work. If anyone can recommend a simple, low maintenance way to collect payments in that way, please let us know.

If it's funded, it will happen. Would you be willing to lead a fundraising campaign in the new year to gather pledges for UX work on Snikket?
@mcpaccard Awesome! Just out of curiosity, are you familiar with the languages / frameworks used in the UI of Conversations and Siskin?
@snikket_im thanks, I will:)
