I don't like how common disk IO operations work by default on Linux. If you're doing a large copy, the kernel will happily fill your whole RAM with dirty pages.
As a consequence, the interactivity of the foreground apps takes a hit. I find this to be *very* user unfriendly.
@fatboy I don't think so. The system is running low on free memory, so any task requesting free pages (directly or indirectly) will be affected.
