On the left is the retired magnetron and on the right is the new one. Mag-neat-O the First is dead 😞 Long live Mag-neat-O the 2nd!!! It's nice to have a microwave again.

Hello everybody out there using minix -

I'm doing a (free) operating system (just a hobby, won't be big and professional like gnu) for 386(486) AT clones. This has been brewing since april, and is starting to get ready. I'd like any feedback on things people like/dislike in minix, as my OS resembles it somewhat (same physical layout of the file-system (due to practical reasons) among other things).

Learning Docker is fun and takes time away from mundane things that I HAVE to do but don't want to like cutting the grass.

Has anyone seen Comet NEOWISE? My conditions exclude me seeing it for myself. So I rely on ppl's pix like the one featured today at

I think apostrophe placement (in a book title or even subtitle) is rather important.

I think this is has been a long time coming. I was never comfortable with those terms. I'm glad they are going away. But where did Zdnet get its info?

I'm still amazed at the breadth of knowledge concentrated at stackexchange

How do I know that I can't get COVID-19 from an email? My mail browser is Alpine without any configurations to open attachments. I know. I know. I'm
missing out on a lot of email goodies...... But I can dl the attachment and decide what app I want to use to view it without using VTP (virus transport protocol)

@wizzwizz4 When I open the app, there is a window stating that my license for Sketchup Make 2017 Pro expires in 29 days.... After I click on "Start Using Sketchup" it launches and Help->About does not mention PRO.. So *MAYBE* it will break in 29 days (not free) or not (free). Sorry for any confusion..... 😞

I want to play with Sketchup but don't was to use a web app.... So I bust out an old PC with win 8.1, install the last free version of Shetchup and ..... Then I allow remote access with non-windows client from my desktop (firewall allow only desktop's 192.168.... addr).. So I don't have to use a web app to do Sketchup via rdesktop from within my KDE session.... The ironic silliness is setting in 😀
