While surfing the wilds of new , I stopped by , saw they had two (2!) new boards and went to look

-Fire: beagleboard.org/boards/beaglev

Reading the specs, I was pretty sure I either suffered a random bout of brain damage or I was hallucinating, then I got to Storage where I recognized some of the words. Not all of them, but some. So that was fun.

-Ahead: beagleboard.org/boards/beaglev

I am not brain damaged and that is how to organize new (to me) hardware words.

BeagleBoardBeagleV®-FireNew BeagleV-Fire features FPGA and RISC-V CPU and is available now around $150. Credit-card sized, Linux-enabled board based on Microchip Polarfire SoC offers high-speed I/O with BeagleBone cape compatible headers and SYZYGY and M.2 connectors.

So I swore after getting my Pi 5 that I would break the habit of buying but seriously, these are cool and even better, I don't actually understand the specs and that shit is catnip.

My birthday is next month. One of these two will be mine.

@seperis These *are* pretty cool. I used to be a lot into hardware, but these fundamentals seem to fall short as I read the specs. IMO the biggest gift your getting is having the spare time to tinker with one of these when you get it.
