My project for this week. Finally got our square-foot garden assembled and planted. Looking forward to fresh vegetables in about 10 weeks.

What do you use as your daily driver?
(Boosts appreciated)

I've written a guide on how to setup a @nextcloud server. This has been a lot of work, as I've tried to be as verbose as possible.

Hope you guys enjoy it.

Curious to see what Google's plan for nerfing adblock in Chrome means for forks like Brave that still depend on upstream for new features/fixes.

Stop using Google Chrome.

Google Chrome is moving to remove autonomy from Web users. Excuse me while I purge it from my machines. Please remember - it’s a “open source” “project” (commerically provided product) whose goal is to not to “affect our [Google’s] ability to customize ads and/or could block ads online, which would harm our business” (from their SEC 10-K filing).

Google Chrome is not built for people; it’s built for Google, by Google. You are their bank.

I don't know much about @linux, but it makes me proud that I can do some things with the terminal and see that it works :). Slowly but steady😁

For Friday, I'd like to give a shout out to a tool that plays an important role in my daily work: Ansible!

Ansible is an amazing automation tool with very clear syntax, which can manage anything over ssh; servers, switches, apps, or workstations. We will be using it today to deploy our entire new infrastructure from code. This article gives a fun intro on how to configure a workstation with Ansible: opensource.com/article/18/3/ma

Who would you like to boost for Friday?

Very excited by this release. I've been anxiously waiting for Terraform 0.12 to hit GA so we can start using it at work.

Always a problem on a new social network. I'd recommend checking the Trunk

Slightly surprised more open source projects don't have a presence on Mastodon. I would have thought they would, especially the major ones.

I finally had enough of the nonsense on Twitter and burned my account there. Now I'm looking forward to checking out what Mastodon has to offer.

Fosstodon

Fosstodon is a Mastodon instance that is open to anyone who is interested in technology; particularly free & open source software.
