MASTER BOOT RECORD just dropped another #music release.

Thanks to the beautiful @play0ad screenshots I got to have a great chat with my 10 year old nephew about #foss and #3dmodeling. He was very impressed by the #libre aspect and how anyone could improve and add to the software. I then showed him my name and avatar on the contribution list for @AntennaPod and he was so impressed with how many people worked together to make the app.
Just wanted to share this feel good story with the #opensource crowd, we're winning hearts and minds!
After more than 10 years of using #emacs I finally learned why I might want to use markers instead of integers in #elisp for buffer positions. (They stay in place relative to the text around them when text gets added or deleted in the buffer)
I wonder if any of my packages or configuration could be made simpler or faster using them.
Hey people, we really should replace #Markdown with a much more user-friendly lightweight markup such as #Orgdown:

It's tedious to write MD all day. And there is almost no support for authoring MD compared to Org.
I've been trying to add something every day. Today's addition was having home-rofi extend home-xbindkeys to define the keys to use it.
It took me a while to get started, but I've been having fun with #guix home, configuring my laptop. I'm slowly making progress moving more and more into Guix home and figuring out how to make and extend services.
"The Emacs of Distros" indeed, I'm starting to spend as much time working on my Guix config as I do on my Emacs config :)
The image shows how far I've gotten so far.
Today it's been 10 years since the first #GNU #Guix commit! 🎂
Some of the 600+ people who made it possible wrote their story:

job/gig logo/artist
Hi all!
I'm looking for someone to help design a logo.
Last time I made a call-out on the Fediverse for an artist, and I found a great one.
Now I'm looking specifically for a logo, which has a bunch of constraints (size, complexity, memorability).
If you're a logo designer, ping me! Boosts welcome.
When I was 12 years old I was volunteering at a museum. One day I noticed one of the adult volunteers had a number 65316 tattooed on his arm so I asked him about it.
He told me, and his story taught me an awful lot about the world.
And you can take 3 minutes to watch, listen, and learn from him too.
Things I like about personal blogs:
- angry geek comments that make no sense to anyone but other geeks
- laughing reading said comments and nodding in agreement
- learning of cool things w/ tools I already know
- learning of cool things w/ tools I *don't* know
- just learning
- Being able to comment, say hi, what's up
- Getting help from enthusiastic folks (as opposed to an unenthusiastic people, like my third grade math teacher... anyway)
- DnD! Emacs! Weird shit!
