good visualization of why Microsoft bought GitHub and started giving private repositories

@rnickson Does their license (TOS) allow them to use code from private repos?

If so, I'm back to strongly disliking Microsoft's acquisition of GitHub, as opposed to being fairly neutral, bordering on irritated.

@rnickson Can you explain this to me? I don't know very much python so IDK what the point you are trying to make is.

@bluetechgirl it's not about the written code, but about the autocompletion. they can use code hosted on GitHub (including private repositories) to train their products like IntelliSense

@rnickson the source doesn’t work for Microsoft though? So they would have done it anyway?

@njha they don't, but Microsoft can see both public and private repositories - no one else can.

@rnickson
Soon we would hav AI writing AI. And MS would ask all us

"Is this life"?

Strange and uncomfortable.
