If you want to add me on #briarapp, please send me your Briar address over Mastodon, as Briar doesn't notify on new contact requests.
Does #tooter beta fork have problems with notifications? It seems to spam them all on first login and then never show any again.
Ordered a #librem 14. Now begins the waiting...
Hello from #sailfishos on a Sony Xperia 10 Plus!
@protonmail with the android app open source now, are there plans to add polling notifications or some other alternative to GCM for devices that don't have play services?
The #etesync DAV bridge is now available in #voidlinux.
xbps-install etesync-dav
Next on the agenda is an example user service.
Switching from Gentoo to Manjaro: after getting fed up with compiling a KDE update for 9 hours while very sick, I have returned to the land of binary package management. Not as flexible, but with access to the AUR and a more generally available package base, it is much easier to deal with. I also realize how much time I spent actually just "optimizing" my laptop. Don't have to deal with that anymore, and I'm now lost because I actually have time to be productive.
Long story short: none of them really work yet, but that is to be expected. Ubuntu Touch is by far the furthest along and most polished, along with Sailfish. postmarketOS is also coming along nicely, but Plasma Mobile needs a lot of work (not a problem of their distro, technically).
Hopefully I can completely switch to Ubuntu Touch or Sailfish in a month or two.
Finally managed to set up #wireguard for a home VPN. So many tutorials are incomplete or wrong.
When is the #progressivewebapp support currently in #firefoxpreview nightly going to make it to the production release? Currently using #bromite for PWAs on my phone.
blocking ads is evil grr
HTTP is a pull-based medium. it is within the original philosophy of HTTP to selectively pull the data, for example, a device that doesn't support images won't download them. by circumventing ad "blocking", you are spitting in the face of HTTP. a more accurate term would be ad rejection. ads are not "blocked", they are simply not asked for.
Does anyone use #Manyverse?
Why does #LibreJS have so many problems detecting open source JavaScript? To be honest, it is more of a pain to use it than not use it. You can't even export/import white and blacklists.
#briarapp 1.2 officially released with the ability to add contacts at a distance.

Is there a way to install a functional version of #plasmamobile on an android device that isn't a Nexus 5X?
