Happy to announce the first service pack of v21.03! ๐ŸŽ‰

In case you're wondering what the Megapixels icon is based on

Everyone be careful with the archive of posts that was added to - one may easily spend some hours reading up ๐Ÿ“š on all the amazing stuff from earlier days! Thanks for restoring them, @linmob

We've gotten reports of some older Androids not working anymore with recent fastboot versions.

If you get "fastboot: error: Couldn't parse partition size '0x'.", then give this patch a try and โœ๏ธ report back in the merge request:

Did you know #postmarketOS supports a few smartwatches? Well, now you do!

However, up till now we didn't have a proper UI for them. Since I put a lot of work in the Mer stack to get it running for #Glacier, it was only a few more packages to get #AsteroidOS up and running on #postmarketOS as well!

Merge request coming in real soon!

Expressatt Mainline Journey:

I got confirmation itโ€™s booting!!! Super excited!! :D

I think it was booting when I initially tried it, but I had no indication if it was or not. Now that I can look at the UART logs, it seems like it was panicking before it got to simplefb, hence the black screen. Thatโ€™s my theory anyways.

Thanks to the folks at @postmarketOS! They helped quite a lot.

Now to getting the rest of the things working :P.

If you want to have a cool setup on postmarketOS edge like lazzardo, check out the new wiki page he wrote:

Most devices, like his BQ Aquaris X5, or the and need a touch input scaling patch. So he created one, upstreamed it to RetroArch and applied in Alpine ๐ŸŽ‰

Today I got #Glacier from #NemoMobile running again on #postmarketOS. This time with keyboard input working in Qemu and touch input on the #PinePhone!

Most packages have been upstreamed to #AlpineLinux already. Soon coming in a #postmarketOS edge repo near you!

-tweaks was just merged to edge!

Makes it easy to tweak ๐Ÿ”ง the following:
* Dark/light theme ()
* Date displayed in
* GTK animations on/off
* Suspend time (e.g. for + crust)
* Fonts (which fonts, size, hinting, scaling, ...)

For people using the edge branch of , please make sure you check if you notice any breakage. We report ways to fix known problems there, most recently PipeWire-pulse being installed and replacing PulseAudio, breaking audio.

The default RAM clock frequency for all @PINE64 devices in pmOS v21.03 is at 528 MHz. We ran it slightly faster before at 552 MHz, but with this change we ensure it runs on all s.

Thanks to @BobbyTheBuilder, power users can now increase the clock speed up to 624 MHz with "update-u-boot -r" in edge. Bobby made this video, showing all three side-by-side:

Anything done with or that you could turn into a ๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ talk for AlpineConf? Submit your talk now!

"Anybody from the Alpine community (or related projects such as downstreams like postmarketOS) is welcome to submit a talk for the conference, even if they are not a developer, as long as the talk is related to Alpine. So, for example, if you've built something cool with Alpine, we want to hear from you!"
