@poetgrant :O You HAVE to publish a review for this (not really, but I'm super interested in hearing your personal experience with it)

@brandon
I plan on it, as soon as I get mine. I'll also submit a review to Linux Journal. 😃

@brandon
They say that they will start shipping in April. 😃

I am pretty excited. 😃😃😃

@poetgrant I would be too! It's the next generation of phone!

@brandon @poetgrant Dude, if this phone is halfway good, I'll replace my Galaxy S7 with it.

@poetgrant I'm so jealous! Please do tell us what you think of it.

@Matter
So before I ordered it, April didn't seem that far away... but now that it is ordered, April feels like decades away.

@poetgrant haha always! I hope you do get it on time, but they seem to have met deadlines for now so it's looking good

@Matter @poetgrant I don’t want to be “that guy” but I’ll be very surprised if they ship in April. That’s only 8 weeks away and the dev boards have only recently come out.

@kev
You're prolly right, but a boy can hope... 😃😃
@Matter

@poetgrant Yea, I did the Kickstarter for the Mark II from Mycroft, and they were saying Christmas. If it's here by June I'll call that "on time". It's what I was expecting. I wouldn't be upset with August. I'd be ecstatic if it's earlier, but I'm not holding my breath.

We always have to take these delivery dates with a basketball sized grain of salt.

@kev @Matter

@mike
Yeah, I actually don't expect my Librem on April... probably more like June or July... then again, if it comes in April I would be crazy excited.
@kev @Matter

@mike
Ooo, the Mark II is another thing on my list of wants.
@kev @Matter

@poetgrant I'm excited for it! I'm trying right now to get OpenHAB working in my house so I can integrate it with the Mark I I have, but I'm not having much luck getting OpenHAB to detect devices. I'm super interested to see what 3rd party devs come up with now that Mycroft's will have a graphical display. Could be really interesting paired with Mycroft on a desktop/laptop. AI based notifications and such maybe?

@kev @Matter

@mike
Have you tried Home Assistant? It has worked with a number of my devices in the home. Mainly my EcoBee since that's the only IoT device. Everything else is hardwired via network cables to my main computer.
@kev @Matter

@poetgrant No, I might have to give it a go. When I first started with smart bulbs, I bought some that were on sale on Amazon from Sengled, but they don't seem to be supported anywhere. At the rate I'm going, I might have to slowly replace them over time, and lean on IFTTT to fill in the blanks.

@kev @Matter

@mike @poetgrant @kev @Matter Openhab is awesome but not for the faint hearted it's taken me a couple of years to get it where I am now and it's still not finished here's a few screenshots from the app . The forum is your friend in Openhab they have alot of tutorial threads that help with most things and the crowd are mostly friendly and glad to help

@poetgrant I was so close but at last minute decided to wait for the second generation which I think will be more ironed out.

@mooshoe
Even if this phone sucks, I plan on keeping it until it dies off completely. It was too expensive to keep it for a year or 2 and trade up. Plus, I'll be able to tell the young people that once upon a time there was this square device called a smartphone and mine had Linux on it and it was awesome! 😃😃
