The @PINE64 running with the new Gecko 91 based browser worked on by @flypig

@piggz @PINE64 That's looking really slick!

Curious to know about the mouse pointer that appears at 00:25. Is that because you brush the trackpad?

@flypig @PINE64 Possibly yeah ... the touchpad/cursor does work too

@piggz @PINE64 @flypig that looks pretty smooth. I should give it a try.

How difficult was it to get Sailfish to run on that machine? I am currently running Debian with Plasma Mobile using the kernel worked on by danct; the same kernel, although updated, that is on the original Arch version that came on the machine.

@Luigi311 @zaivala Yes, as documented. To install on the EMMC, you can actually run flash-it.sh again from a running sailfish from the SD card, and it will allow you to install again on the EMMC.

@piggz @zaivala
Im not so sure this is correct, looks like the bash version on sailfishos doesnt actually work with the script. It seems to use busybox for its shell and it looks like it might not support arrays so it fails on the POSITIONAL=() line with a syntax error unexpected "(". Looks like the script also expects sudo which also does not exist.

@Luigi311 @piggz
I believe I would have to have a copy of sailfish OS in the first place, which is not free as I recall. I guess I'll keep my Debisn with Plasma Mobile.

@zaivala @piggz The flashit script downloads sailfish and flashes it for you. You dont need to pay for anything since this isnt an officially supported devices. Its community supported by piggz

@zaivala @Luigi311 also, even official devices have free versions of the OS available, you just dont get the 'paid-for' bits, like the great android integration and ms exchange support

@piggz @PINE64 @flypig Is there a special way to install esr91 on the pinetab2? I followed flypig.co.uk/geckoinstall and it installed but its crashing on start after a few seconds. Is there a way to troubleshoot this? I found a few github issues but they all seem hybris related.

@Luigi311 @PINE64 @flypig All you need to do is install sailfish, then upgrade to 5.0.0.51
devel-su
ssu-re 5.0.0.51
ssu ur
zypper ref
zypper dup

@piggz Im assuming its ssu re since ssu-re doesnt exist. It seemed to run into a lot of errors about missing packages and checksum errors on your kernel adaptation. I told it to continue anyways but upon rebooting looks like its still on 4.6.0.13 sauna according to the ssh greeting and the about product page

@Luigi311 Feel free to paste me all the output. yes, its ssu re ... im not sure if 5.0.0.51 is public yet, "zypper ls" will show if the repo is valid

@Luigi311 Ah, see hoe jolla and apps repos are invalid ... i guess its not public yet. please just wait until its available generally :)

@piggz I take it it's only released for the C2 and no general release date in sight?

@piggz Out of curiosity i tried doing 5.0.0.43 since that was released last month (only to c2) and it looks like the update has way less errors during the update process but then fails to boot so i guess i shall wait for 5.0.0.51.

@Luigi311 that might be my fault for breaking the kernel package yesterday :) ... 5.0.0.43 -should- work, but doesnt have the fixed browser for native/mesa devices

@piggz @PINE64 @flypig that is smoooooooth! Might have to dust of my PineTab 2 . . .
