@petre the idea of a social media strike is pretty weird. Surely people who would engage in that would already not go on the offending platforms that often, and this wouldn't change anything?

@Matter like most strikes, it's about razing awareness. Even if someone does not visit often some platforms, posting a message will help. Go read the hole thing. I think it answers this concern.
In my opinion anyway, the Principles of Decentralized Social Networks are most interesting and important.
